I have an explorer’s heart, so visiting wild places and accessing beautiful natural environments is a big focus for me. However, being paralyzed from the chest down and with adventurous dreams and goals often calls on the need for innovation, especially when it comes to equipment and technology.

I was seeking some equipment that could help me take a journey across a remote area of Antarctica. After years as a Paralympic handcyclist, a hand-pedalled trike seemed the obvious choice. I discovered the ICE trike had a proven track record of being used to access the South Pole, but there was no hand-cranked version.

ZTrikes helped solve the challenge for me. This amazing adaptation to pedal with my arms enabled me to access places I hadn’t been able to for three decades! Forests, beaches, mountain trails…suddenly some boundaries I had become accustomed to were blown away.

The Z-Trike ICE machine has been life-changing for me. It’s inaugural expedition after testing in Israel was indeed to Antarctica. Whilst the conditions weren’t quite right for riding there, it is soon to tackle the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

I may be testing it to extremes, exploring it’s capabilities to some limits! But it is a wonderful beast that has already enabled so much freedom and enjoyment in my everyday outdoor life. See more at www.karendarke.com

ראיתי את האופניים ומיד נדלקתי. לא האמנתי למראה עיני הרי זה בדיוק מה שהייתי צריכה כלי רכיבה אחד שיפעיל את הרגליים שלי ואת הידיים שלי באותו אימון. 
לקח לי פחות מדקה להודיע לרן, את האופניים האלה אני רוצה. 
ובאמת האופניים הם האהבה החדשה שלי. 
הם מחבקים אותי,  מחזיקים  אותי יציבה ואני רוכבת עליהם ידיים ורגליים לסרוגין. האופניים נענים  לכל דרישה שלי, עליות,  מהמורות בשטח, אדמה לא כבושה. אוכלים הכל ובקלות. 
לרכוב על האופניים החדשים והאהובים שלי זה ממש עונג צרוף!!
